Hello, Friend!
I’m Katya Nicholas, a portrait photographer in NYC with a passion for bringing your inner beauty out in photographs we create together.
My journey with photography began at age 9, and over the years, I’ve become dedicated to helping people see their own beauty and radiance through the lens. Nothing brings me more joy than helping women embrace their image with confidence.
When the pandemic hit, I saw how crucial it was for everyone to have a powerful, professional presence online—whether for job applications, promoting a business, or connecting on a dating site. Yet, I knew not everyone had the resources to hire a photographer. That’s why I created the DIY Headshot mini-course: to empower you to create a beautiful, polished headshot on your own, with just a smartphone.
I didn’t take this challenge lightly. As I built this course, I put myself in your shoes, taking countless self-portraits on my iPhone. I wanted to ensure that anyone could get stunning, professional results using only the techniques in this course. And through this experience, something unexpected happened—I began to overcome my own doubts and insecurities about being in front of the camera. Even as a professional photographer, there are times when I feel uncomfortable in front of the camera. I had always felt much more comfortable behind the lens, but learning the techniques I'm teaching in this course gave me a newfound sense of confidence.
